THE CONTEST CONTINUES

Looking ahead to 2027

This exhibition celebrates the first five-year cycle of the Asas do Mar Photography Contest.

​

After five rounds, the contest is taking a short pause in 2026. This moment gives us an opportunity to look back at what has been created: hundreds of photographs, countless hours of observation, and a remarkable visual archive of the seabirds of the Azores and the wider Atlantic.

The Asas do Mar Photography Contest will return in 2027.

​

A new edition of the contest will open the door to new photographers, new perspectives, and new encounters with the marine world. The species and landscapes may be familiar, but there will always be something new to discover: a different behaviour, a different light, a different moment, or a different way of seeing.

​

We hope the contest will continue to inspire photographers to observe wildlife patiently and responsibly, while helping more people discover the extraordinary seabirds that share our Atlantic.
